When it comes to paid and organic social media data, things get a bit more complicated. We’re here to uncomplicate them and to explain everything that’s truly important.

Native apps and analytics tools offer insights into the performance of both paid advertising and organic content on social media platforms.

Here's what you can expect from paid and organic social media insights with Socialinsider:

  • Facebook — Facebook metrics include data from both organic and boosted content, regardless of whether the page is connected (a page that you manage and are authorized to manage) or not (a competitor page).

However, ad insights are only available for connected accounts. Here’s a guide on how to connect your own accounts.

There’s a difference between ads and boosted posts. Boosted posts are ads that were created from existing posts, while ads are created from scratch (through Ads manager) and they offer more advanced customization solutions.

❗️Note: The ad account must be the one you use to create the ads on the Facebook page you’re tracking.

  • Instagram — Instagram metrics include data from organic content only, regardless of whether the profile is connected or a competitor profile.

For Instagram ad insights, you have to connect your Ad account as well.

Unfortunately, we cannot report organic + paid engagement because we receive only organic engagement from Facebook's API (Instagram Insights data comes from here).

Socialinsider cannot report on organic and paid engagement because of Meta API limitations. Only organic insights are available for Instagram competitors’ profiles and connected accounts.
