If you have ever needed to send a client, a manager, or a teammate your social media performance data without exporting a static PDF or scheduling a call to walk them through it, you will want to use Socialinsider's dashboard sharing feature. It takes seconds to set up and gives the recipient a live, read-only view of your data.
Here's exactly how it works.
Why Share a Dashboard Instead of Exporting a Report
Exporting a report gives someone a snapshot frozen in time. Sharing a dashboard link gives them a window into your actual data, whenever they want to look at it. This is especially useful for:
Agencies who need to keep clients updated without manual reporting cycles
Teams who want stakeholders to self-serve on performance data
Anyone who is tired of answering "can you send me the latest numbers" every week
How to Share a Dashboard
Step 1: Open the dashboard you want to share
Navigate to the dashboard containing the data you want the other person to see. This can be a profile dashboard, a benchmark, or any other dashboard from your Socialinsider project.
Step 2: Click on the 'Share' button
In the dashboard view, click the 'Share' button (top right corner).
This opens the sharing options for that specific dashboard. From there, you can also export the view as a report.
Step 3: Copy the link
Socialinsider generates a unique link for that dashboard. Click to copy it to your clipboard.
Step 4: Send the link to your recipient
Paste the link into an email, a Slack message, or wherever you communicate with the person who needs access. No account setup or invitation flow required on your end.
Note: Keep in mind that the link expires in 5 days.
What the Recipient Can (and Can't) Do
Once someone opens the link, they get a read-only view of that specific dashboard. Here is what that means in practice:
👉 They can:
View all the data in that dashboard
Download the data as a report
👉 They cannot:
Edit the dashboard
Access any other dashboards or data in your account
Make changes on your behalf
In short, it is a safe, contained way to give someone visibility without giving them the keys to your account.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
The link only unlocks the dashboard you shared, not your full Socialinsider workspace.
The recipient does not need a Socialinsider login to view it.
If you update the dashboard later, anyone with the link sees the updated version, since it is a live view rather than a static export. ✌️
