We're excited to introduce a powerful new feature that gives you a more complete picture of your social media growth journey: Estimated Historical Followers Data!

What Is Estimated Historical Followers Data?

Due to social media platform API limitations, it's typically impossible to access follower data from before you started using our tool. But we understand how important this historical context is for your analysis and reporting.

Our new feature fills those gaps by providing estimated historical follower counts, giving you a more complete view of your account's growth trajectory over time.

Where Can You See Estimated Data?

You'll find estimated historical data in several places throughout the Audience section:

  1. Follower Count Line Charts: Charts now display both your actual data (solid line) and estimated historical data (dashed line).

  2. Follower Growth Charts: Similar to the count charts, these show both actual and estimated growth patterns.

  3. KPI Widgets: Follower Growth and Follower Growth Percent widgets will include estimated data with clear labeling.

How to Identify Estimated vs. Actual Data

We've made it easy to distinguish between your actual data and our estimates:

  • Dashed Lines: All estimated data appears as dashed lines on charts (versus solid lines for actual data)

  • Clear Labeling: Charts and widgets with estimated data are clearly marked with "Based on estimated historical follower data"

  • Date Indicators: The tooltip on charts displays the start date of your actual data

Understanding the Estimation Process

When you select a timeframe that extends beyond your available data:

πŸ‘‰ Our system automatically calculates estimated follower counts for the missing periods

πŸ‘‰ These estimates appear immediately in your charts and widgets

πŸ‘‰ If you see "updating estimated data," it means our system is still processing your estimates

Why This Matters for Your Analysis

Historical follower data helps you:

  • Understand long-term growth patterns even if you just started using our tool

  • Correlate past marketing campaigns or events with follower changes

  • Create more comprehensive reports with complete timelines

  • Benchmark performance against competitors with a fuller dataset

❗️Note: As you continue using our tool, the proportion of actual data will increase, gradually replacing estimates with real data

We're constantly working to improve our estimation accuracy, and we would love your feedback on this new feature. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact our support team!

Happy analyzing! πŸ“ˆ
